Yalova University Polymer Engineering Department was established in 2008 in Suleymanbey District Istiklal Caddesi Tukenmez Sokak No: 5 Yalova (opposite to IDO Yalova Pier) and it is the first Polymer Engineering Department in Turkey. Later, the department was moved to the building on Şehit Ömer Faydalı Street. Then later in 2017, the department was moved to its new building in the central campus and Polymer Engineering education continues in the classrooms and laboratories in the Central Campus. Polymer Engineering Department has its first graduates in 2015. The Department of Polymer Engineering continues its research activities at the master and doctorate level as well. Those students who successfully graduated from the department are working on priority areas and projects supported by TUBITAK. The teaching faculty is composed of 6 Professors, 2 Assoc. Prof., 8 Assist. Prof. and 7 Teaching Assistants (3 holding PhD degree); 23 in total.
